How to dull a Green Cheek Conure’s beak naturally?

First, I want to say this: I don't mean I want to do some procedure on the bird's beak, like grinding it. I mean I'm looking for ideas from other owners about how to dull it with toys or other methods.

This is my first Green Cheek Conure. He's about two years old, and his beak is healthy. But it's awfully sharp, and it's gotten sharper in the past few months. Now, when he gives little nips on my neck it feels like a sting. When he gets upset with me and I have to pick him up, he's drawn blood with puncture wounds.

I know they need sharp beaks for food, but I don't think it needs to be that sharp. It's definitely affected how we interact and play. What used to be affectionate nibbles are now painful stings.

Anyway, has anyone out there experienced something similar? Did you have any success with toys or methods to dull the beak?

I asked his vet, and he said sometimes when you give them toys to dull their beaks they may just use that toy to sharpen their beak more. Also, whatever I've bought for him to chew on, he ignores.

Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!
